How does a mother's mental health impact the future mental health of her children? 

AME researcher and lead author, Dr. Danielle Roubinov has found a bi-directional link between negative mood in young children and subsequent development of maternal depression.

The study’s findings highlight the need for consistent mental health screenings for mothers and children, in addition to family treatment services that incorporate mental health care for the entire family.
