Dr. Grunfeld’s research involves two major areas. He studies how infection and inflammation affect metabolism and body composition, with a focus on ways those changes promote atherosclerosis. He also studies how disease and therapy affect kidney function with laboratory studies looking at novel markers in urine and blood.
